Long-Term Disability (LTD)

Long-term disability insurance is a type of insurance coverage that provides income replacement for individuals who are unable to work due to a disability or illness. It is designed to provide financial protection and support in case you become disabled and are unable to earn an income for an extended period.

Plan Highlights

Benefit Amount: Protect up to 66 2/3% of your gross monthly salary, up to the plan maximum benefit of $7,500.

Elimination Period: This is the length of time you must wait after becoming disabled before you start receiving benefits. Choose from 14 day, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, or 180 days. For employees that elect either the 14 day or the 30 day elimination period, the elimination period will be waived if you are hospitalized during the elimination period.

Benefit Duration: Social Security Normal Retirement Age (SSNRA)

Reasonable Accommodation Benefit: A new provision added to the policy effective 9/1/2023 is the Reasonable Accommodation Benefits. A benefit of up to $25,000 is available to modify or adjust you job or work environment to allow you to perform essential job functions if you are disability.
