Medical Transportation

A MASA MTS Membership provides the ultimate peace of mind at an affordable rate for emergency ground and air transportation assistance expenses within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and while traveling in Canada, regardless of whether the provider is in or out of your group healthcare benefits network. After the group health plan pays its portion, MASA works with providers to make certain our Members have no out-of-pocket expenses~ for emergency ambulance transportation assistance and other related services.

Emergent Plus Plan

Emergent Ground and Air Transportation: In the event of a serious medical emergency, Members have access to emergency air or ground transportation into a medical facility or between medical facilities.*

Non-emergent Inter-Facility Transportation: In the event that a member is in stable condition in a medical facility but requires a heightened level of care that is not available at their current medical facility, Members have access to non-emergent air or ground transportation between medical facilities.*

Repatriation/Recuperation: In the event that a Member is hospitalized more than 100-miles from their home, Members have access to air or ground medical transportation into a medical facility closer to Member’s home for the purposes of recuperation.

Emergent Plus Plan
The Platinum Plan includes all benefits in the Emergent Plus plan plus:

Return Transportation: In the event the member is hospitalized more than 100-miles away from home for more than 24-hours, member has access to return transportation, upon their release, to the commercial airport nearest their home.*

Escort Transportation: In the event that member requires medical transportation, member may elect to have a family member or friend accompany them during the medical transportation.  This benefit is limited to the availability of space within the vehicle, giving due priority to medical personnel and equipment.*

Minor Return: In the event that member requires the use of one or more of the member transportation benefits and (as a result of such benefit) a minor child (who is in the member’s custody) is left unattended, the minor child shall have access to return transportation (by commercial airline) to the commercial airport nearest the minor child’s home.*
